"Easter Sunday 2020" (Silent)

This video was created in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a strong supporter of "sheltering-in-place" during these times, trapping myself at home eventually left me without any inspiration. Or rather, I had exhausted all of the things that I normally do at home. Instead, I decided to try something new. Something I had never done before.

Including the water well in the center, all 13 of the structures were built using crazy glue and popsicle sticks. The fire starter was a piece of old dry rope set into a small trench that I dug for fire safety (and to hide the rope). One GoPro camera was set up on a tripod to record the entire scene, one phone camera was used for wide shots and another was used for close-ups.

The silence of the video is purposeful. During the pandemic it seemed as if the whole world had lost its voice. The time consuming construction of the the "town" is significant when considering its fairly quick deconstruction; similar to the deconstruction of the world during the pandemic, as if everything had been taken by fire.
